Light the task, not the screen

Place an adjustable source to the side of the dominant hand and outside the direct reflection angle. Glossy displays require extra care.

Use the wall or edge cautiously

A clamp lamp saves surface area but requires the same desk-edge inspection as a monitor arm. A slim freestanding lamp is more portable when the edge is obstructed.

Video calls need facial light

A window behind the user creates a silhouette. Turn the desk or add soft front-side light before buying a high-output ring light.

Keep controls reachable

Physical brightness and color controls are faster than an app in a daily workspace and continue working when connectivity fails.

Evidence label

Products described as tested were physically evaluated. Specification-based recommendations are labeled and never presented as hands-on tests.
