Start with your body and desk
Measure a comfortable seated elbow height and compare it with the desk surface. If the chair must rise to meet the desk, plan foot support rather than leaving feet unsupported.
Seat depth changes comfort
A seat can be too deep even when its weight rating is adequate. Look for usable space behind the knees and verify the actual seat dimensions.
Arms can block the desk
Measure the desk underside and apron. Fixed arms that cannot pass below the desk can force the chair into the walkway after work.
Return terms are a feature
Chair fit remains personal. Keep the packaging and test every adjustment early in the return window.
Products described as tested were physically evaluated. Specification-based recommendations are labeled and never presented as hands-on tests.
